Opening
March ended with an elusive punch, and the first couple weeks of April could be centered around trying to make sense out of what occurred. The last couple days of March included a powerful Aries Solar Eclipse and a monumental Ingress : Neptune into Aries. Reality as we know it is changing and fast. While we knew that March would pull in a series of curveballs and new plot twists (which it delivered) we didn’t know exactly how we would land at the end of the month. And it is fair to say that as April begins we may not have the clarity that we are craving. We are still in mid-air in hopes of a soft landing.
On the bright side, there is a lot of good, supportive, flowing energy this month. The decisions that you have needed to make could find a gentle push from the wind at your back, as well as a much needed jump-start into a new direction. If you are working on projects that need some inspiration in order for them to come to completion, then much of this month can help you to harness your drive. This is illustrated by the ongoing flowing aspects between Venus, Mars, Saturn and Uranus from April 4th - April 20th. Take advantage of the productivity that is available to you for much of this month.
However, the Libra Full Moon and the Taurus New Moon are a bit gnarly, so tread carefully around those times.
Mercury & Venus Station Direct
In addition to Neptune’s fresh ingress into Aries and reeling from the Solar Eclipse in Aries, the beginning of April also highlights the simultaneous Mercury and Venus Retrogrades. The two planets have been moving side-by-side for of the majority of their Retrograde cycles. Venus Stationed Retrograde on March 1st and Mercury on March 15th. As of late March (when I am writing this) there have been a multitude of Mercury Retrograde events, most notably the US Secretary of Defense (Pete Hegseth) texted classified military plans on an unsecured platform and accidentally included a press editor from The Atlantic. This is classic (and somewhat horrifying) Mercury Retrograde activity - you can’t make this shit up.
Mercury will Station Direct on April 7th at 26° Pisces 49’, Conjunct both Venus Retrograde and Saturn. As Mercury Stations and the weeks following, we could witness a turn in messaging from the media and the government, and / or a clarification. There has been a lot of posturing from the current government to gain greater control over the media, and requiring the media to support the government by untraditional and arguably forceful means. Since 2020 specifically the truth has felt increasingly more illusive, and this trend looks to be peaking with this Mercury Retrograde.
The Trump Administration has placed historic blockages in the medias way, limiting their access to government information that has traditionally been central to their work. At the same time, alternative media outlets who are in support of the Trump Administration have become the mouthpiece for the Administration. While this has been incrementally occurring for a while, arguably since the first Trump Term, there have been marked changes and quickened progress in Trumps direction in the past month.
Several characteristics of this Mercury Retrograde indicate that its repercussions could be higher than most other Mercury Retrogrades. First of all, this Mercury Retrograde is tied in with the current Eclipse Season, Stationing Retrograde at the same degree as the Aries Solar Eclipse on March 29th (09° Aries) and Stationing Direct close to the Virgo Lunar Eclipse on March 14th (23° Pisces). As stated previously, Mercury and Venus are riding the Retrograde wave simultaneously and side-by-side, which intensifies the power behind the Mercury Retrograde. Finally, the signature alignment for this Mercury Retrograde is it’s Conjunction to Neptune (which perfects three times : March 2nd, March 29th, and April 16th).
Neptune’s influence within this Mercury Retrograde exaggerates the search for truthful information, and increases the likely hood for being mislead and submersed in a world of confusion. People are more likely to be convinced of obscure and even dangerous messaging, and sold false information hook-like-and-sinker. Be careful of what information you are being fed. The truth is out there, and it’s up to each of us to use our own north arrow to decipher what the Truth IS.
Hopefully Saturn’s influence on the Mercury and Venus Direct Stationing will provide some grounding and checkpoints for the tsunami of information that could be coming at us. Question everything. This is a great example of when Saturn could save the day with some cold-hard-facts.
Venus Stations Direct later in the month, on April 12th (24° Pisces 37’), and is closely Conjunct Saturn as this occurs. On a personal level, any relationship topics that you have been working through during this Venus Retrograde may be solidified at this time. There are commitments tied into this Venus Retrograde, and consequences may follow if those commitments are not met. It is safe to say that commitments come with some level of sacrifice, are you wiling to make the necessary sacrifices for your relationship (or other parts of your life that have been up for review at this time)? If you’re not then that could be where the consequences are felt.
While both the Mercury and Venus Direct Stations involve hard truths (hopefully) in the midst of deception, there is also a notable amount of motivated forward motion at for the first half of April. During the Mercury and Venus Direct Stations, both planets are Trine Mars and Sextile Uranus. This suggests that the Direct Stations could arrive with a bang! Expect an exciting turn of events and fast developments for storylines that were tied into the Retrogrades in the first couple weeks of April.
Libra Full Moon
The Libra Full Moon takes place on April 12th at 23° Libra 19’, and is occurring on the same day that Venus Stations Direct. Most notably, the Aries Sun within the Full Moon is closely Conjunct Chiron, suggesting that topics of wounding, isolation and even violation could be brought to the table. Be ready to work through deep and possibly uncomfortable events and conversations - maybe just within yourself. Mars Square the Full Moon (at 27° Cancer 55’) creates urgency and even volatility to the topics at hand, and reiterates that working through difficult areas of our life is on the agenda around this Full Moon.
Be mindful of being easily triggered, or easily triggering others. With Mercury Conjunct Neptune, words can be easily misunderstood and can be received with more sensitivity than usual. In addition, Venus is Conjunct Saturn (and stopped in the sky as she Stations Direct), so we could feel the heaviness and responsibility within our relationships in a more profound way, as well as the consequences that could follow. Emotions are high, skin is thin and words carry more weight than normal. Tread carefully around this New Moon.
Mars Opposite Pluto
Mars Opposite Pluto has been a trademark for Trump’s re-entry into the White House, as well as the recent Mars Retrograde in general. The first Mars Opposite Pluto (as part of the recent Mars Retrograde) took place on November 3rd 2024, just before the 2024 US Presidential Election, and largely foreshadowed the elite power-heavy Administration that we are now contending with. The second instance of this Opposition took place on January 3rd 2025, as the Trump Administration prepared to take office with historical force on January 20th (when Sun Conjunct Pluto took occurred). I have been anticipating this 3rd Mars Opposition to Pluto for sometime, the third and final Opposition takes place on April 26th 2025 at 03° 48’ Leo / Aquarius.
It is possible that we have already uncovered the storyline of this powerful and potentially brutal planetary combination - a new forceful and even ruthless administration takes its place within the US Government. The supporters could describe the circumstances as an administration that exhibits superhuman power, great self-confidence, fortitude, and immense ambition. Either way, this is clearly the core of the Mars Opposite Pluto influence that we have been under since early November 2024. Will there be a crescendo to Mars-Pluto in late April, exposing new levels of ruthlessness? Or will we continue to experience more of the new status-quo?
For each of you personally, look at what you have located at the very early degrees (00°-06° of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius), if you have angles and / or planets in or immediately around these degrees you are likely to feel the influence of this transit more intensely in your personal life. Honestly, you have likely been feeling it since November 2024. Life could feel very intense and requiring you to sacrifice more than feels comfortable or even reasonable to you. The pressure could be intense, and when you say “uncle” the pressure increases. This planetary combination describes the drive to survive, as well as motivation to change in a very profound way. As someone with this signature in my natal chart, my advice is to surrender with curiosity. The more that you fight the change that is at your doorstep the more that you will get pulled into the muck that is arising.
Taurus New Moon
A Taurus New Moon can be quite lovely! The Moon is in its sign of Exaltation, signaling the beauty and new life of Spring (in the Northern Hemisphere). This New Moon takes place on April 27th at 07° Taurus 46’. As you may have guessed, the main signature of the Taurus New Moon is its Square to the Mars-Pluto Opposition. That’s right… the Mars-Pluto Opposition that I just spoke to will be further highlighted by this New Moon.
A New Moon invites us to go inward and work with the fertility within our lives, within our souls. This is creative space is where dreams can be made manifest in time. With the Mars-Pluto influence, the dream that is calling us is large-scale and asking us to go the distance to make those visions a reality. We could be reaching deeper than usual, feeling the urgency behind what we are being called to create. Transformation is on the agenda.
The material arising around this New Moon could feel threatening, uncomfortable and challenging. While a Taurus Moon carries a lovely expression of the Moon, it can also be the most challenging Moon sign to experience harsh aspects from other planets. The Moon in Taurus can be like a princess held high, who cannot tolerate the challenges that life has to offer. This Lunation is targeting the part of us that is dependent on tranquility, beauty and peace. We are being compelled to sacrifice a part of our creature comforts in order to make extraordinary changes in our lives. Are you up for the challenge?
Closing
Be prepared to take advantage of the productivity boost this month. There is the momentum and support for long awaited decisions to be solidified, resulting in either deeper commitment or separation. Be true to yourself in this process because consequences could be lurking if you are not authentic to your needs and desires.
Tread carefully, especially towards the end of the month. Tensions could be high, the pressure could be getting to everyone. It is important to take time to go within yourself, especially at the end of the month so that you can decipher what is yours and what isn’t.
