Libra New Moon : Discord in a Peaceful Place

Let’s start with the good stuff… Libra, what a beautiful energetic for the Sun and the Moon to have their monthly rendezvous in. Libra represents harmony, working together, peace and beauty. The Sun & Moon uniting in the sign of cooperation and companionship may bring up warm fuzzy feelings towards those parts of our life. The energetics of self-will and nurturing will join together to begin a new vision of how we can all work together in balance. The individual is called to join forces with others in a peaceful and diplomatic manner. A collaborative vision may be recognized from the dark inner space of incubation we know as the New Moon.
However, there is more to the story. And why wouldn’t there be?!? Enter Mars, the God of War, Aggression and “Getting-Sh*t-Done”. This New Moon Chart places Mars in a nearly exact conjunction to the New Moon (Sun, Moon & Mars all at 13° -and-change in Libra). Mars in Libra is motivated to make peace (a bit of an uncomfortable placement for Mars at times) and find the balance in an unbalanced situation. A Libran Mars is an aggressive peace maker driven by diplomacy. Let’s be honest, we can use more of this in our world! But we must be careful that we don’t over compromise our desires.
All together we have a very motivated seedling in the incubator! What is usually a harmony-driven place to plant our intentions within (Libra) is bound to have a good dose of aggression and impulsiveness. Regardless of Mars being in a “peaceful sign”, there can still be increased tensions and conflict. If there was no conflict there would be no Libra, an energetic that strives to balance above all. This New Moon appears to be motivated towards activating the imbalances and disharmonies in our lives. It urges us to bring fair and thoughtful drive to the dreams that we plant.
And, one more important tid-bit about this New Moon - Uranus is in a near exact Inconjunct with the New Moon dynamic (Sun-Moon-Mars). What this indicates is that adjustments may need to be made due to unexpected interruptions. These interruptions could feel like an itch that you can’t reach and that won’t go away. They could arrive in the form of out-of-the-blue inspiration or even completely derailing of the matter-at-hand. While these Uranian interruptions can be quite frustrating, their evolutionary goal is to open our minds to what else may be possible and, thus, encourage us to be better versions of ourselves.
So… while, the core peace-loving, harmony-making vibe of the Libra New Moon will still be vibrant, it will not be so simple. We will not be able to get away with frolicking about on the surface with our beautiful, gestational vision - as a Libra New Moon may prefer. We will be encouraged, and maybe even forced, to be more active, maybe more uncomfortable and possibly even caught-off-guard with our dream planting. Discord in a peaceful place may be exactly what we need so that we fight-harder, take more chances and more deeply enjoy the gifts that peace and harmony offers us.

Be open to unexpected input or disturbance, make room in your New Moon intentions for the flexibility of unplanned brilliance
