August 2025 : Churning the Cosmos

I am delighted to welcome a large group of new clients to my practice (mostly from the recent Spirit Speakers Podcast)! Meeting with so many of you in recent months has been a pleasure. Thank you to each of you (the new and the old-school) for trusting me to lead you through the cosmic themes, patterns and cycles.

Opening
August stimulates and agitates the long-term planetary shifts that we have ushered in thus far in 2025. Since Uranus initiated its first dip into Gemini in July, this pivotal planetary shift has been temporarily completed - 5 slow moving planets into their new sign (Jupiter into Cancer, Saturn into Aries, Uranus into Gemini, Neptune into Aries and Pluto into Aquarius). As I have stated before, this is an illustration of stunning cosmic choreography. We will witness the result of this simultaneous shift for many years to come.
August will highlight these planetary shifts as faster moving planets pluck the strings of the slower moving planets and make manifest the cosmic agenda.
August in particular is a moment when we are putting grand schemes into motion and likely coming up against some notable pushback. The pushback is likely a response to the fast and furious nature of the change. As noted previously, 2025 specifically is a year when there are no guard rails, the safety-gear has been removed in order to facilitate the rapid pace of transformation.
However, in late September Saturn and then Neptune will retrograde back into Pisces, and in November Uranus will slip back into Taurus. Pluto decidedly entered Aquarius in November 2024. Thus, the agitation that is kicked up with the new storyline could ease-up in order to tie up loose ends.
Mars Opposite Saturn & Neptune
The most notable transit occurring this month is Mars’ Opposition to both Saturn (on August 8th) and then Neptune (on August 9th). Mars often acts as a cosmic agitator, and often lights for match for events to occur. In this case, the agitation is centered around the disintegration of tradition and overall foundation.
Many of us may have been sensing that the groundwork that we have always depended upon is giving out beneath us. Within the US in particular this transit is landing on the IC of the US Foundation chart - stating that the foundation of the US is being dissolved and making way for a new and (hopefully) improved order.
I suspect that this time (around August 8-9) will be filled with further aggressive action from the US Government in oder to further carry out this cosmic (although not preferred) agenda.
It is notable that this Opposition will be supported in a flowing aspect by both Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. A Grand Trine with Mars, Uranus and Pluto is formed at this moment. For you personally, this suggests that whatever has has been slowly demolished in your life will be granted a new and exciting path forward - even if you may not see it right away.
On the world stage this suggests that those who are agitating the status quo will likely find greater strength in their actions. Grand Trines tend to provide an unobstructed path forward, an open channel. As I said, there are no guard rails at this time. The churning is quite profound and without notable resistance this year - if you haven’t noticed.
Aquarius Full Moon
The Aquarius Full Moon occurs on August 9th at 16° Aquarius 59’ - with the Sun in Leo. The most powerful astrological activity occurring simultaneously to the Full Moon is Mars' Opposition to Saturn and Neptune (as mentioned above). That said, it is important to note that both the Sun and the Moon are in aspect to Mars, Saturn and Neptune via Octile’s (SemiSquare and SesquiQuadrate). Hence, we can expect the influence of this combative Opposition to be further heightened by the Full Moon.
We can expect the topic of criminal activity in our leaders as well as the continued deconstruction the status quo to constitute the core of the world events. We could see action organizing to persecute those who are acting outside of the law.
Within you personally, expect big emotions to be brought to the forefront. If you have been struggling recently you may find an actionable path forward. This path forward could offer you new perspectives and opportunities that you could not previously conceive of. You do have to put some effort in and be willing to surrender your preconceived notions.
The change at hand is restructuring who you are from the inside-out. It is time to give up misconceptions that you aren’t worthy, it is time to step into your magnificence and take up some space in this world!
This Full Moon is chiefly impacting planets or points at or around 16° of Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius). So take a look at your chart to see how this Full Moon is impacting you.
Mercury Stations Direct
As I mentioned last month, Mercury Stationed Retrograde on July 17th at 15° Leo 34’. It is interesting that when Mercury Stationed Retrograde it was in a SesquiQuadrate to both Saturn and Neptune. And it was around this time that the Trump-Epstein extravaganza began to really gain traction. The core to this political drama has been seeped in misdirection, fear, criminal activity, confusion and deception (all Mercury / Saturn / Neptune themes). Trump has been backpedaling through this Mercury Retrograde in fear that the blatant truth will become exposed.
When Mercury Stations Direct on August 11th, Mercury will be Conjunct TransNeptunian Planet Volcanus and Opposing Pluto. Volcanus represents excitement, a mighty force, and speed. In combination with Mercury and Pluto, we have hidden information that arrives with great speed and power. A torpedo of information that is transforming the landscape of our reality in some way.
If you have any planets or points between 04° - 15° in a Fixed Sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) then this Mercury Retrograde has likely been effecting you more personally. We can expect striking truths to be exposed as Mercury Stations Direct. Preemptively examine what you are hiding from yourself and others that is ready to be released and transformed. We are not meant to stay in the same form for too long. As humans, we are here to change and grow through that change. Trust the process.
Venus Conjunct Jupiter
Also on August 11th, Venus and Jupiter perfect their Conjunction at 14° Cancer 03’. This is an overall positive transit. Both Venus and Jupiter are Benefics, meaning that they bring growth, fertility and harmony to whatever they touch. And, with Jupiter in its sign of Exaltation (Cancer), the positive potential is even greater.
It is notable that at this optimistic pair is joining up at the same time that Mars and Saturn - the great Malefics - are Opposing one another (with Neptune too). Thus, stating that the tensions and troublesome circumstances could be buffered by a beneficial option, a soft landing.
In addition, the Venus-Jupiter Conjunction is SemiSquare to Uranus, offering surprise and unexpected opportunities in a tense time. We could find help and ease when we change our perspective and do something out of our wheel-house.
It should be stated that Venus and Jupiter are within a Degree of the TransNeptunian Planet Hades. Hades represents fifth, untruth, criminal activity, loneliness and waste. In the context of all of the other astrological activity, it is possible that shady individuals are allowed to get away with their actions. Or (more positively) the repulsive sexual history that many are looking to uncover could be opened up and brought to justice.
Virgo New Moon
The Virgo New Moon takes place on August 23rd and is located at 00° Virgo 23’. So much of this New Moon is inviting discomfort, anxiety, and being blindsided. Taking place at the first degree of Virgo, the New Moon is interacting with nearly all of the planets that have recently ingressed into their new sign, and in a very agitating way.
First of all, the New Moon is in a close Square to Uranus, and this is likely the most productive aspect that the New Moon is making. Uranus brings excitement, revolution and a chance to start fresh! We can expect surprise events that result in destabilization and even some chaos.
Additionally, the New Moon is in a Quincunx with Saturn / Neptune and Pluto. Thus, the potential productivity as well as tensions that arose earlier in the month could result in a mess of blind spots and anxiety-ridden circumstances. Quincunxes bring about discomfort and agitation because the protagonist is not visible, yet they are impacting us.
The means to appease the agitation imposed with a Quincunx is not clear. It takes time and patience to find the gift within these planetary alignments. And it is important to do your best to trust that the unease that arises from a Quincunx will benefit you in the long run.
With the New Moon in the sign of Virgo, there could be a desire for perfection and tangible results. However, the line up of aspects to the New Moon are not allowing for easy manifestation.
This New Moon is asking us to surrender to all of our blind spots. To allow ourselves to be messy and unresolved. This is a vulnerable place to be. Loosen your grasp on your expectations and let yourself be surprised by the wisdom that lies within the unknown and the uncontrollable.
Closing
We are not likely to find the answers this month. If anything, there is a larger possibility that we will unearth more questions and frustrations than anything else.
We are in a time of immense shifting, changes and (hopefully) evolution. But we must take our human self-centeredness out of the plot line. Largely, what happens “to” us in this lifetime is not personal in the sense that we are being punished. We are here to live in magical friction and learn in each moment. We are honored students in Earth School.
When you encounter hardship ask yourself what is the lesson to learn from this event? The disruptions that we experience are largely to serve the greater good of a source which we can barely fathom - yet we are all a part of. We are being invited to surrender into the Universal and participate collectively in the evolution at hand.
We are all a part of the Churning of the Cosmos. We are all being changed down to a cellular and energetic level. So be kind with yourself and with others. Remember to look for the magic, joy and harmony in all the places where you are least likely to find it. Let yourself be surprised!
