Moving On

Our focus on the Gemini / Sagittarius axis is now completed.  Although this Full Moon is not an Eclipse, it is within the same sign polarity (Gemini / Sagittarius) that the Eclipses have chiefly been within since June 2020.  And this Full Moon is taking place close to the same degrees as the Total Solar Eclipse on January 14, 2020.

In accordance, the Lunar Nodes (who create the Eclipses) are headed out of the Gemini / Sagittarius polarity, they will solidly move into the Taurus / Scorpio polarity on January 18, 2022.

In addition, Jupiter is in a flowing aspect with the Full Moon (Trine to the Moon, Sextile to the Sun).  And Jupiter is saying its final goodbyes to Aquarius, as it will be entering Pisces on December 29, 2021. Jupiter entered Aquarius in January 2021. The elements of this Lunation are moving on.

You may find yourself looking back on the recent past and taking stock on what has occurred with curiosity and hopefully an element of positivity, or at least appreciation.  Being at the end of 2021, a reflective Full Moon is quite timely.

Reflection

There is no question that this year has been a wild ride, particularly on the heels of 2020.  Life is certainly not the same as it was prior to mid-2020 (when the Lunar Nodes entered the Gemini / Sagittarius polarity).  It was around that time that we REALLY realized that COVID was not going to just “go away” and that this would be something that would change EVERYTHING.

Gemini and Sagittarius are interested in the collection and disbursement of information.  We have had to leave behind some of our bigger ideas and assumptions of the world that we live in (Sagittarius) and frantically gather new information (Gemini) in order to re-establish a new world-view.  During this Full Moon in Gemini the ideas and patterns of thought that have been reconstructed over the past 18 months could be illuminated and reach a level of fruition.

Another energetic setting the tone for this Lunation is that each Planet involved is in Saturn’s sign (Capricorn or Aquarius).  This reflection is likely to be grounded in an acknowledgement of timeliness and hard work.  This is not a wistful Full Moon.  It has gravity to it, responsibility and wisdom.  However, Jupiter’s supportive presence also provides hope and the knowledge that growth is always a possibility.

Venus Retrograde

In addition, the Gemini Full Moon is Inconjunct to Venus in Capricorn.  While this is an aspect that I may not always bring to light, I feel that it is important to do so here.  As I mentioned in my last article, Venus is about to turn Retrograde.  At the time of this Full Moon she will be stopped in the sky (from our perspective), which makes the energetics of Venus incredibly potent.  Only 6 hours after the perfection of the Full Moon, Venus will Station Retrograde (on December 19, 2021).

I perceive Venus’ influence on the Gemini Full Moon as the potential for grappling with how our shifting ideals and perceptions of the world have influenced our relationships and values.  Illumination can have a vulnerability or a discomfort to it, and the Moon’s Inconjunct to Venus may be expressing the adjustments that we have needed to make (or need to make) as the realities of our lives change.

Venus will likely work through a lot of these relational challenges as she proceeds through her Retrograde Cycle over the next couple of months.

Conclusion

The end of the year is a great time for curious reflection.  Be sure to take the time to process the journey that you have been on so that the necessary lessons can be deeply appreciated.  If there were tough challenges along the way, be interested in the “silver-lining” that you can find meaning in.  These past couple of years have changed our story-line and have been an enormous plot-twist.  No one said that making history is easy, but here we are!  Be kind and curious with yourself and others.

Practical Advise :

  • Reflective journaling could be very productive at this time.

  • Converse with your loved ones about the changes that we have overcome (from a loving space).

  • Listen to music music that you enjoyed during Lockdown to help stir your mind - how have you changed since that music was a mainstay of your life?
