October 2025 : The Alchemy of Grief
Business
Hello friends! This is a longer newsletter than usual so I will keep the business brief.
Sara and I released two new Broadcast Astrology Podcast episodes in September. Earlier in the month we released an Eclipse Episode with Christina Caudill of Radiant Astrology. In this episode, we took a deep dive into the overall meaning of Eclipses as well as an overview of the September Eclipses.
Later in the month, we released an episode on the 2025 Libra Ingress Chart with Eboni Bledsoe of Homegirl Astrology. We looked at the upcoming astrological topics for the next three months - including challenges with the news and social media, our general beliefs, as well as the legal system. Overall, the conversation was incredibly relevant to our current lived experience and it pulled a lot of meaningful insight into how to best navigate these times. You can listen and watch on YouTube, Spotify, and most other podcast platforms.
In addition, If you live in Colorado, come and see me at the Colorado Ayurveda Conference where I will be providing Mini-Consultations (20min consultations for $20). The event is taking place October 2nd - 5th in Black Hawk, Colorado. There are inspiring performers and presenters who you don’t want to miss! I am honored to be a part of such an important gathering. Hopefully I will see you there!
A Reflection
I am writing this newsletter on the heels of a turbulent September. I live in the Colorado mountain town (Evergreen) where the school shooting took place within moments of the Charlie Kirk assassination. Each at the hands of radicals from opposite political sides. My community is still in a state of recovery, each day we are greeted by a new layer of grief. And although most of my immediate family and friends were not directly impacted by the incident, it deeply touched every single one of us.
And then there has been the larger impact for the United States, a tsunami of anger and confusion surrounding the Charlie Kirk incident. I have done a lot of work on the astrology of the United States and for Trump himself. And the biggest take away that I have received is that we are all on a metaphorical merry-go-round. When I was a child my dad taught me about centrifugal force while on a merry-go-round - the faster you go the more you feel like you are being pulled to either side of the ride. It is fast and thrilling, and the center feels utterly unreachable. The world around you is morphed into blurred lines.
While these rides can be fun for a bit, when we are on them for too long our bodies feel sick and we are dizzy and ungrounded. This is where we are at - as a nation. The world events are fast and furious, spinning our felt reality into a whirlwind, we cannot see clearly. The centrifugal force makes it difficult for us to access the middle-ground and once the excitement wears off we can become disembodied and anxious. Our nervous systems are shot, and we could even feel nauseous.
How can we find our own inner grounding during these turbulent times? How can we resist the pull to either side and make our way towards the middle? When will we understand that we are all on the same ride and that neither side is to blame? We are all suffering from the same destabilizing circumstances. And the inflamed blame that we put upon one another is only making the ride move more vigorously.
When will we see that this is an opportunity for growth and regeneration? While many things are ending - and that can be difficult - it is also a time for new dreams, new perspectives and new collaborations. This is an opportunity to speak more, listen deeper and find new pathways to live with one another. We will not ever agree completely, and that is OK. Working with one another is one of the biggest challenges in this earthly experience - and I’m here for it.
Opening : Welcome to October 2025
September unraveled us all in one way or another. The set of powerful eclipses in the midst of heavy transits - highlighted the deep anger and confusion that we are collectively immersed within as a nation (and even globally). It could be argued that we have felt the break approaching for some time, and when it arrived it was big, really big. And regardless of what side of the imaginary “fence” you stand upon it was impossible not to feel the impact, the breaking of something integral to our humanity. But also maybe something that needed to break in order to recreate a more robust society.
October will likely be a time of integration, processing and emotional resetting. The beginning of the month will likely continue to focus on the September story-lines, deeper processing and emotional outbursts. However, the second half of the month could include some opportunities to deepen onto the emotional upheaval and find a new more nurturing way to navigate the other side of our new reality.
Aries Full Moon
The Aries Full Moon takes place on October 6th at 9:47pm MDT and is situated at 14° Aries 08’. There is a celebratory spirit to this Full Moon because it marks the end of a very long and turbulent Eclipse Season. In the days before this Full Moon perfects we should start to feel a bit more grounded, the Eclipse Season spell will be broken! And we can proceed as usual-ish. While it is true that the plot-lines of Eclipses can play out for about 6 months (sometimes longer) the liminal feeling of the Eclipses dies away once the next regular New or Full Moon takes place.
From a wide-lens perspective the most prominent signature of this Full Moon it’s square to Jupiter in Cancer. Which is good, it is optimistic, life-giving and poised for success. What is not to like about that?
However, when we look closer, there is also a hard aspect (Semisquare) to Uranus and a Square to the Trans-Neptunian Planet (TNP) Hades. Uranus on its own could bring in more sudden events, shocking news reels and even excitement. However, Hades indicates the possibility of unpleasant events, disturbing news, and criminal activity. More positively, we could find that more people are looking to help one another in a time of need.
The Dial for this Full Moon illustrates that there is the possibility of a continued struggle surrounding free speech. It looks like there could be more restraints and significant ones, resulting in people fighting back in order to maintain their First Amendment Rights. Anger looks to be stirring, and there is a warning that people could be gravitating towards others who are on their “side” instead of reaching across the isle for common ground. (for more detailed information on this common theme at this time watch the Libra Ingress Episode)
For you personally, do what you can to not get caught up in the heightened drama that looks to be unfolding within the archetypes of this Full Moon. In our home, we are having a screen free October. Meaning that we will be off of everything except for a show each evening to wind down.
With the Sun in Libra and the Moon in Aries we are asked to look at our relationships and how we show up within them. Jupiter could help us to bring ease and opportunity into our partnerships and friendships, allowing for stuck areas to experience flow and even happiness.
Pluto Stations Direct
This is an important Station for Pluto because it is the first time that it will do so in the Sign of Aquarius. Since Pluto’s first ingress into Aquarius in March of 2023, Pluto has always Retrograded back into the sign of Capricorn and Stationed Direct there… until now. This Station Direct states that Pluto is in Aquarius for the long-haul - until 2043, when it begins its ingress into Pisces.
The most important element to this Station - which takes place on October 13th - is that Pluto will be within a half of a degree from perfecting its Trine with Uranus. A powerful Trine that will actually perfect throughout 2026. In addition, Venus is in a Trine to both Uranus and Pluto, creating a Grand Air Trine. This combination can bring new creative projects into fruition, and enlighten new ideas or perspectives.
While the stationing of any of the Slower moving planets can be potent, the supportive and inspirational nature of the Grand Air Trine should help with how the intensity manifests.
It should be noted that the Moon will be in an Opposition to Pluto as it stations, which could emphasize the profound and sometimes uncomfortable change that us humans are undergoing. Pluto can bring in heaviness, fear, skepticism as well as a sixth-sense knowing. The collective intuition could be heightened in the midst of trying circumstances.
Take a look at what you have situated between 00° - 04° of the Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius). These natal placements will be most impacted by Pluto’s Stationing.
Libra New Moon
On October 21st at 6:25am MDT the Libra New Moon will perfect. Situated at 28° Libra 21’, this New Moon highlights the importance of negotiation, and reminds us that in order to maintain social harmony every voice must be heard.
As an archetype, Libra’s wisdom is needed in the midst of so much activity in Aries. Saturn and Neptune in Aries has brought topics of masculinity, aggression and bold action to the forefront. While the Aries archetype can be the blunt force needed to instigate something new, Libra is there to bring social cohesion and niceties into the often times raw and abrupt Aries demeanor.
The Libra New Moon is situated within an even closer proximity to Jupiter in Cancer, but is also within an Out-of-Sign Square to Pluto. The luminaries paired with Jupiter and Pluto is an overall bountiful and powerful combination. This is often the signature for an individual who is capable of creating immense riches and overall success. However, there is also the possibility for great change (as has been pointed to prior and in many of my astrological evaluations of this time). Jupiter brings more to whatever it is touching.
A central element to this New Moon is the Mercury-Mars Conjunction in Scorpio that perfected just before the New Moon. As the Libra sentiment works to maintain social balance, Mercury-Mars could be putting fire on all of our tongues, sparking debate and verbal discontent. We can expect cutting news or public disputes at this time.
The Chart and Dial for this New Moon indicates that there is the possibility that we are still reeling from the events of September and that new events could contribute to the dismantling of the status quo. Pain and loss are still largely on the agenda. I recently listened to a podcast which stated the importance of pain. I know that this sounds absurd and even masochistic, but within the realm of the human experience, pain can be central to learning and growing and evolving. In so many ways, this is what the astrology is illustrating for us at this time.
Many of you may be asking, when will it get easier? Why is it always so hard? And the answer may be that the easy moments are not the point of our incarnation. The friction and the grind are the points, that is where the magic happens. And, the ease and the beauty and the comfort is also always present - in every moment, and it is our goal to remember that. The feel of a cool breeze on your skin, the sound of rustling leaves, the warm sun, the calming majesty of animals, the tingle after reading a good poem, the smile of a good friend, the hug of a loved one, the sound of laughter, the feeling of your body after a good night sleep. These are always woven into our life, always accessible, and the real medicine as we traverse the meaningful density of human life.
Mercury and Mars Flowing Aspects
Towards the end of the month, there is the a notable series of Grand Water Trines that are comprised of Mercury and Mars in Scorpio, Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. The flowing aspects are taking place in the later degrees of water signs, between 24° and 29°. If you have placements in water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) at or near these degrees you can expect a boost of activity, steps towards success and opportunities coming your way.
These Trines are taking place between October 24th - October 29th (and will likely be felt several days before and after). I suspect that we may be able to find some resolution within our emotional bodies and minds. The Water element in particular is an expert in dealing with the emotional realm, and can aid us in finding the wisdom within the parts of us that we may try to avid through activity, consumption or other means of escapism.
At this time, I hope that we are able to find more solace within ourselves, maybe have a good cry followed by a hearty laugh, or move our bodies in a way that allows the emotion to flow more smoothly. Water can remind us that grasping onto our emotions or intellectualizing them only makes matters worse. Emotions are meant to be felt and to be understood via their fluid felt experience.
If grief is something that has currently arisen for you, allow it to flow and to change you in the way that it needs to. Grief is powerful and can bring us into deeper alignment with ourselves, one another and the spiritual realm. There are many books written about grief and the alchemy involved in it. According to an online search the Alchemy of Grief refers to: “the concept of grief as a transformative process, not a linear path through stages, but a powerful force that can lead to healing, new ways of being, and profound personal growth by allowing a deeper understanding of life, love, and ourselves.”
Keep going.
Closing
Well, this has been a lengthy newsletter. I hope that my ramblings surrounding the astrological activity has been helpful in some way, illuminating the path that we are currently traversing. I love astrology because it provides a grand overarching plan, without the dualistic preconceptions that humans tend to prescribe. It is because it is. And I am reminded that we are small but powerful pieces in a much larger and infinitely complex picture. Practicing astrology gives me the feeling of touching destiny, running my fingers through the mechanisms of the universe.
It can seem inconceivable to me that each individual person in the world has their own divine blueprint, made just for them and their souls intricate story in this lifetime and in others all outlined through astrology. Yet, I know that if I sat down with each person I would find just that. Unbelievable.
I hope that I am able to meaningfully convey and share that inspiration and magic to each of you as well. Each of you are incredibly important, in ways that you cannot and will not fully understand in this lifetime. And being “important” doesn’t mean being successful on the early plane. It is vaster and subtler than that. Keep your light bright, keep your loving energy big, and trust that each step will lead you to where you need to go.
Until next month,
Lisa (aka The Dynamic Self)
